Ness is a talented lady of many skills, she's placed her iconic new skool style of tattoo art on many happy clients. She is an exceptional illustrator with skills we would all kill for. Ness is a resident artist at Diablo Art, tattoo studio, in Enmore. She spared a few moments for us in the lead up to the Diablo Art Exhibit on June 19.

So Ness, tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Ness. I have an obsession with brass knuckles and leopard print. If I'm not at work tattooing I'm usually drawing, playing the drums.

What/who inspires you?
Lots of things really... but mostly from watching people on the street. When it comes to my pin up girls, I love the female form, its so beautiful .I'm constantly drawing my girls! I can never get enough of them.

What is your first memory of a tattoo?
I didn't grow up around tattoos, so my first memory that I can recall is when my sister came home one evening, she was 18 and I was 14, she just got her first tattoo and that's when it hit me!

I wanted to be a tattoo artist, from that day I never looked back. Started taking my art work more seriously. And my family has been by my side from the start, never giving up on me.

Who are your major influences in the tattoo/arts industry?

Major influences for me would be Jimmy Litwalk, Joe Capabianco and Hannah Atchison. They all do AMAZING tattoos, mostly full of colour and a new skool style to them. One day I want to be tattooed by each of them!

Advice for anyone keen to be a tattoo artist?
I'll be honest its a hard industry. There is a lot of competition and a lot of EGOS but if you can look past all that then it’s totally worth it. It took me 6 yrs to get into the industry so if its really what u want to do then don't give up, no matter what anyone tells you....

What your favourite style of tattoo work? Dream clients?
My dream client would be someone wanting a new skool sleeve or chest piece, giving me the freedom to do what I want. No questions asked! Cartoony+ pin up girls + Bright colours =ONE HAPPY GIRL!

What medium/style would you most like to explore?
I've pretty much tried a lot of styles and mediums. Some reason I always come back to my cartoon style, its comes out in everything I draw. I also like to use Photoshop a lot, but I've been known to airbrush, and paint, as well as my typical drawing with pencils and markers.

What are you working on this week?
This week I'm working on a few things, I am never just working on one thing... For work I'm drawing up this new skool chest piece of a guys evil cat. At home I'm painting some skateboard decks for my up coming exhibition. As well as working on one of my girls, which will be just pencils on board. I am always keeping busy!

What makes Ness happy outside tattooing/work??
FOOD and MUSIC! I love my food and going out to different restaurants. I also like to cook at home, I've been told I'm a good cook! But I also love going to see love band and listening to music and drumming along to my favourite tunes!

Any exhibits, projects or anything exciting you'd like to mention??
Diablo Art has an up coming exhibition on. 19th June, 7pm @ 224 Enmore Rd Enmore. I'll have all my art works for sale on the night. I'm really looking forward to it. And I will be holding more exhibitions in the future!
